Gadiel Asiata
Gadiel is the youngest of 9 and moved to Manurewa at the age of 6 where he went to primary and secondary school, after which he worked full-time to help his parents pay their mortgage. He currently works at Griffins Foods as a Technical Specialist and volunteers as a Senior Site Delegate for E tū Union.
Gadiel has been involved as a Trade Unionist for the past 22 years and believes in fairness and equal opportunities, and giving our kids the best possible start in life so they can have access to good jobs, decent working conditions, and fair wages.
O le malosi o le nu’u, o tupulaga; the strength of village is our youth. Gadiel believes strongly that, with over a quarter of people living in Manurewa being under 15, initiatives to focus on youth could not be more important. He aims to be a part of a board that can successfully connect and consult with the different communities within Manurewa to plan our community journey forward together. #loverewa
